Olivia is a third-year International Development Studies major, African Studies Center intern, and co-founder of Love A Community, an NGO focused on sustainable community development in Kumi, Uganda. She is a member of the UCLA Global Development Lab and the Olive Tree Initiative. Olivia’s Global Citizens Fellowship project seeks to implement Wi-Fi technology at the Atutur Hospital in Kumi, along with building a support network among regional medical schools and hospitals. While in Uganda, Olivia will be researching the lack of supportive programs available for young refugee men and fathers, the reasons for this gap, and its ramifications for dignified, long-term refugee resettlement and repatriation policy.
